PDF Print

Conference in Amsterdam on March 22.

On December 13 last year a conference was held in Amsterdam with the Title 'Links en de Crisis' (Left and the Crisis). This meeting has been mainly informative and exploring. (Here you can find a report in Dutch) We organise a follow up on March 22. This time with working groups on several topics in which we will discuss what we can do and should do ourselves in those times of economical turmoil.

There will be working groups about the following themes:
1) the ecological chances provided by the crisis
2) economy from a feminist perspective
3) democratisation of the economy
4) jobless and underpaid forced to be disciplined
5) trade unions and work
6) organising knowledge and information
7) migration/migrants
8) practical organising of alternative structures and counter powers

In a plenary meeting after the workshops we will talk about the main dangers and changes of this economical crisis:
How can we prevent that the weakest and the poorest, both at home and abroad will be hit the hardest? How can we prevent that this crisis will be misused by the right-wing and by entrepeneurs to change regulations and society even more into the direction they want? How can we use the cracks in the system to convince a broader public that fundamental changes are necessary?

Additional: organic catering by the Coswecan Collective, a bookstall and announcements of actions and initiatives.

Organisation: XminY Solidariteitsfonds, Stichting Ander Europa, Voor de Verandering and A SEED.
